CTS Assists in Planning & Engineering Demolition of the Arlington Memorial Bridge

CTS was recently featured on the cover of the latest issue of CSDA's Concrete Openings Magazine. The article covers CTS contract work performed on the historic Arlington Memorial Bridge which spans the Potomac river and connects the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.The bridge has been operational since 1932 and had been undergoing temporary repairs to the deteriorating deck and roadway for several years. Despite the National Parks Services repair efforts, structural analysis by the Federal Highway Administration showed that if complete deck and a framing replacement was not performed, the bridge would need to be closed by 2021. CSDA 2019 Infrastructure Renovation Project of the Year – Award Winner

CTS was recently recognized for our work on a historic federal building project in Washington DC and received an infrastructure renovation project of the year award from the Concrete Sawing & Drilling Association (CSDA). In 2013, a downtown Washington, DC Federal building developed a plan to renovate for $220 million. The goal was to preserve the original architecture while adding on a more efficient security area and conference facility. Concrete Technology Services Mid-Atlantic, Inc was hired to perform the abatement, interior, exterior and structural concrete demolition.
